Helping community projects

Engage West Cornwall was a partnership set up to support the distribution of Regional Development Agency funds. In particular, it assisted groups applying for and receiving funding from the Single Regeneration Budgets (SRB) 5 and 6.

Engage was staffed by two people and supported a partnership board of 17 organisations. This board was known as the Engage Partnership.

With effect from 26th October 2004 the Engage Partnership merged with the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund Group to establish the West Cornwall Funding Group - which now manages both the Single Regeneration Programme and the Neighbourhood Renewal Programme.  This provides a more direct approach to funding for the West Cornwall area.

The West Cornwall Funding Group is part of West Cornwall Together  - the local strategic partnership for West Cornwall.  West Cornwall Together is developing as the overarching partnership across West Cornwall, with a number of existing partnerships merging into it.

Representation is drawn from statutory, community and voluntary-based groups, as well as the private sector.  The partnership operates across the two districts of Kerrier and Penwith.  It aims to be innovative, to increase participation and to respect all views, with the aim of improving the quality of life for the people of West Cornwall.
